- 12. Gilbert's Plan to Confiscate and Redistribute More of Your Family's Hard Earned Money
In a previous post, I noted that 5 of 7 Gilbert Council members earned themselves the rank of Heroes of Big Government by AFP-Arizona. Thursday night, they plan to reduce your individual liberty and prosperity even more by: 1) Confiscating more of your family's resources by raising your Secondary Property tax rate; and 2) Using tax dollars to join a "collective" effort to build the Gilbert Wellness & Resource Center, which will offer free and reduced services.
These 5 Council members will make it all sound very reasonable and "charitable." It would be, if they were using their own money, or if they encouraged you to give from your personal resources. But their idea of charity is stealing from you and giving it to someone else.Click here to read more
- 13. Americans for Prosperity Ranks Arizona Local Government Officials
The rankings for 2015 are in, and the top Heroes of the Taxpayer are Gilbert Town Council members Victor Petersen and Jared Taylor, and Pima County Supervisors Ray Carol and Ally Miller. The entire Sahuarita Town council rated next as Champions of the Taxpayer. Please let them know how much you appreciate their hard work in standing up for your individual liberties.
Unfortunately for Gilbert, council members Eddie Cook, Ben Cooper, Jenn Daniels, Mayor John Lewis, and Jordan Ray have sunk to a pathetic low. In prior years, they have been "heroes," "friends" and "allies" of the taxpayer. Their 2015 rating? Heroes of Big Government. It's hard to believe that these people call themselves conservatives or even Republicans. Their actions speak loudly that individual liberty is too "messy" for them. They are autocrats who think their constituents need expert help leading their own lives.Click here to read more
- 17. Captain Rick's Gilbert Council Scorecard
Rick has been watching the Gilbert Town Council meetings since mid 2011, keeping track of how Gilbert Council members have voted on controversial issues, "those involving a large expenditure of funds or of significant public concern." He rates votes based on what is in the best interests of Gilbert citizens. Most important to him is a vote that is "fiscally responsible and free of politics and private agendas."
Without exception, you will notice that Victor Petersen has held firm at the top of the list for 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014. When Jared Taylor took office in January 2013, he and Victor tied for top scores.

- 18. U.S. Congressman Matt Salmon Endorses Victor Petersen for Gilbert Town Council
I am very glad that constitutional conservative Victor Petersen has received Matt Salmon's endorsement for Gilbert Town Council. Rep. Salmon stated:
"We really need guys like Victor," said Salmon, "who fight Federal overreach at the local level so we can be successful in that same effort in Congress. I hope you will join me in supporting him."
I agree with Rep. Salmon. Victor has consistently fought against Federal overreach, with every statement he makes and every vote he casts.

- 20. Let's Rally for Victor Petersen for Gilbert Town Council
The great news is that Gilbert Town Council Member Victor Petersen has turned in his petition signatures! Now, it's time to help him raise money for his campaign for reelection. Gilbert Watch supported Victor four years ago, and we are very proud that we never regretted it for a second! He is a rock solid, constitutional conservative. His voting record mirrors his campaign promises.
To donate to Victor's campaign, go HERE. Here is a letter from Victor.
I am honored by and grateful for all the help I received in collecting signatures for my race. I am happy to announce that I have more than enough signatures to put my name on the ballot and that is thanks to all of you for your help!
With signatures complete, I am entering the fundraising stage of the campaign and I can't emphasize enough the importance of small donations. Even $5 is a wonderful donation as that reflects a grassroots campaign which characterizes my efforts in government. While protecting individual rights protects special interests some of the time, generally special interests do not appreciate the fact that they can't control my votes. They know that I am loyal only to the principles of freedom which benefit everyone equally. This means the everyday citizen like you will have to contribute in order to have a successful campaign.
As a fiscal conservative, I will make the most of every hard-earned dollar that you contribute and I will not rest in my never-ending quest for lower taxes so you can keep more of those hard-earned dollars.
Thank you for your support!
