11. Candidate for Governor Frank Riggs Files Petitions - Now, Let's Elect Him as our Next Arizona Governor!

Candidate for Arizona Governor, Frank Riggs, filed his petition signatures on May 27 at the Secretary of State's office. Here is a statement from him after he filed from the MCRC Briefs:

Gubernatorial candidate Frank Riggs filed more than 10,400 signatures on May 27 to qualify for the primary ballot. In less than four months, the Riggs campaign collected almost double the 5660 signatures needed to qualify for the ballot.  Riggs said. “There may be a big field in the Republican primary for governor, but I’m the proven, tested and trusted candidate for Governor.  I offer a clear choice and new direction for Arizona.  I will stop the 'Obamanization of Arizona' by repealing Common Core and rolling back the unsustainable expansion of Medicaid." Riggs promised to be a highly visible and accessible governor and to make Arizona a model of effective, conservative government through the principles of fiscal restraint and responsibility, constitutionally limited government, free markets, equal opportunity, secure borders and personal responsibility."I have a lifetime of leadership service and experience, the deepest, most proven record of any candidate for governor, and the demonstrated courage to make the tough but right decisions.  I look forward to taking our message to voters about why I’m the clear choice for conservatives in the Republican primary for Governor,” concluded Riggs.

Frank Riggs also held a press conference on the Capitol Lawn earlier that morning, where he tore up the "Memorandum of Agreement" that was signed by Governor Brewer and former Superintendent Tom Horne, who signed us up for Common Core in our Race-to-the-top Phase I application. Riggs again promised he would issue an Executive Order on his first day to "Repeal Common Core." We need this type of leadership in Arizona! We need a Governor who will stop federal intrusion in our state and restore our states' rights! All of the other candidates have not made this declaration nor promise about Common Core!

12. HB2699 and HB2700: Good News and Bad News

Recently, Gilbert Watch asked you to email Arizona Senators asking them to support two important bills: HB2699 Endangered Species - Program Rescission - Reimbursement and HB2700 ..."recover all state lands that have been acquired by the federal government.  The good news is that HB2699 passed.  The bad news is that HB2700 failed to pass.

As a precinct committeeman, I visit with citizens.  Most are unaware that our country is swiftly being taken over by the federal government agencies made up of unelected bureaucrats who are paid by the taxpayers.  This lack of awareness stems from their source of news.  These citizens are also unaware that the newspapers they read and most of the television reporting they watch are part of what has truly become the Collectivist Media.   For example, the collectivist media did not report one of the most significant events in American history:  The Cliven Bundy vs the BLM stand-off.  Why?  Because the fact that over 2,000 patriotic Americans standing up for individual liberties does not fit the collectivist agenda.

13. Thursday, April 3: Ralph Heap Fundraiser

Please don't miss this special fundraiser on behalf of Dr. Ralph Heap's candidacy for Arizona Senate in Legislative District 25.  He is running against incumbent Bob Worsley.

"Remember, Obamacare is not about health insurance for the poor.  It is about control of one-sixth of our economy," states Dr. Heap.

“I believe in the promise of America, and I will work hard to fulfill that promise. This is the greatest nation on earth, and its greatness lies in the brilliance of the Constitution. Everything good about America stems from the liberties protected by this majestic document.

"We stand at a crossroads.  One of the biggest problems we face today is the takeover by the federal government of our healthcare system.  Unless many of us in the medical profession stand up to these bureaucrats, we face a dismal future.

"From the youngest to the oldest, from the healthiest to the sickest, no one will be untouched by this federal power grab.  I hope to accomplish many things if I am elected, including fixing our healthcare system, preserving the Constitution, reigning in the EPA, strengthening our schools, supporting our law enforcement officers,  lowering taxes, decreasing regulations, and shrinking government.  Preserving liberty means less government and more individual freedom. That is my goal.”

14. Obama to Brewer: "Ok, Sweetie. Now Dance for Me"

The photo in this article and this part of the lead sentence says it all:

"...a major victory in her battle against conservative members of her own party."  With that, Brewer gets Obama's federal money to add hundreds of thousands of Arizonans to the Medicaid rolls.

Dance, Brewer, Dance, dance, and dance for Obama.  He who has the gold rules.

Here's the story:  Judge Tosses Lawsuit Challenging Brewer's Medicaid Expansion Plan.  It's funny that the title is accurate calling it an "expansion.  Yet in the body of the article, the Tribune first calls it a "restoration." These Leftist rags are so predictable.

15. Valentine's Day is for Taxpayers

Valentine's Day is for Taxpayers is a fund-raising event to be held on Feb. 13 (Thursday) to help elect Constitutional Conservative Republicans to the state legislature.  If you are a taxpayer, you want these folks on your side.  In the last Arizona legislative session, Governor Brewer and 14 Republican legislators voted with Democrats to bring Obamacare to Arizona, along with a tax increase, and along with more funding for abortion providers.  They did this, even though 29 out of 30 Arizona Legislative Districts, as well as several counties, had passed Resolutions to try to stop them.  They ignored their conservative base and threw the Republican party and the Constitution under the bus.

We have a Republic and a state to save.  We cannot do it without your help!!!

Please attend this very important event:

16. The Lie that is Michele Reagan

by Christine Bauserman
Alliance for Principled Conservatives

Senator Michele Reagan from Legislative District 23 is the most effective traitor to ever serve in the Arizona Legislator.  Michele can currently be found skipping through the state asking you to forgive her, again, for banding with a traitorous group of Republicans and voting, again, with the Democrats, and oh pretty please can you not add her name on that censure. Michele has been a traitor not once not twice but three separate times granting her the distinct status as “the traitor who has survived” and is now so emboldened by her ability to make excuses for rolling the Senate President and bringing Obrewercare to Arizona that she is asking for a promotion! She wants to be the next Secretary of State and probably has her eye on the governor seat.

To prove that good silver-tongued politicians from Chicago are not solely confined to the Democrat party, Michele is now running through the legislative district circuit lying about her vote for Obrewercare.  And just in case you want to try and argue her mastery of the “excuse” she delivers by changing her story for different LD’s proving her knack for being consistently inconsistent.

17. Dr. Ralph Heap to run against Bob Worsley in LD25

Please attend the Thursday, Jan. 9 meeting of the Mountain View TEA Party and meet an excellent conservative candidate who is running against Bob Worsley (LD25) in 2014.   Dr. Ralph Heap, an orthopedic surgeon, received his M.D. from the University of Arizona College of Medicine in 1978, and has been practicing for 30 years.

.  The meeting takes place at 7 pm in the Mesa Utility Building,  640 N. Mesa Dr.

ObamaCare will destroy our healthcare system and our economy with it.  It is an unmitigated disaster, yet my opponent voted to expand and fully implement ObamaCare here in Arizona, committing the taxpayers to hundreds of millions of dollars in new costs and further surrendering our health care system to the federal government.  As a doctor, I know the issues, I know what is at stake, I will be an effective voice at the Legislature, and I will fight passionately for free market reforms and the end of ObamaCare."  Dr. Ralph Heap

In just ONE legislative session, Bob Worsley raised taxes, voted for Obama-care (the Medicaid expansion), violated Prop 108  (the Taxpayer Protection act), voted against Pro-Life Amendments, voted for taxpayer funded scholarships for illegals (which is also a violation of the law), and he scored the worst of any Republican Senator from Americans for Prosperity--earning the Hero of Big Government award.

In fact, three Democrats scored higher than Bob Worsley, including the Democrat Minority Leader Chad Campbell!

18. Medicaid Expansion is not Insurance; It's a Loan

In a December 15, 2013 blog article titled "If you Like your house, You can Keep your house," the brave new world of "Medicaid Expansion" gets murky:

"On October 17, Beverly Woods asked a disturbing question on the website. What happens to the assets of people who now meet the expanded criteria for Medicaid?  Medicaid was designed to ensure healthcare for the truly destitute, and existing state and federal laws, regulations, policies, and procedures are based on the assumption that people on Medicaid have essentially no disposable assets. The Act Formerly Known as Obamacare changes that.

" Medicaid does not insure Americans against medical expenses--it loans them the money to pay expenses, and takes it all back when they die.

"You could call it a "death tax," if that term hadn't been taken. Next year, Americans who die with more than five million dollars in assets will pay 40% in taxes. Americans who die on Medicaid will pay 100% of their Medicaid expenses before their heirs get one penny.

"Family farm? Gone. Mom and Pop shop? Gone. Nana's house, with her snow-white picket fence around her prize-winning garden? Gone, gone, gone.

"Is there a way around this problem? There is not supposed to be, for long-term care expenses. The system is designed to loan money to people who have no assets, and to recover as much government money as possible from people who do have assets. Lots of people have tried to hide their assets from the government, with limited success. In particular, parents may not deed their houses over to their children to evade their debts--if they do, and incur medical expenses any time during the next 60 months, the children will be required to pay Medicaid back."

In a related by Dr. Jane Orient, titled ORIENT: Medicaid as a Tax on the 'estates' of the Poor, Arizona is specifically referenced.  Dr. Orient practices internal medicine in Tucson, AZ, and is executive director of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons. She states:

20. GCRC Resolution to Censure Gov. Jan Brewer and 14 State Legislators

On November 16, 2013, a potluck/meeting of the Precinct Committeemen representing the Gila County Republican Committee was held in Payson, Arizona.  A motion to Censure Az. WHEREAS, Governor Jan Brewer conspired with 14 liberal Republican state legislators to form an alliance with the Democrat minorities in the Senate and House for the express purpose of thwarting the will of the .Republican majorities and violating the Arizona Constitution, the Republican Party Principles and the Republican Party Platform, including but not limited to the following:

•    They increased property taxes.

•    The only tax relief they offered was for special-interest industries who could afford to hire lobbyists.

•    They rejected a balanced budget and voted for one with a structural debt of $400 million.

•    They removed government oversight for special interests.

•    They voted against verifying citizenship as a requirement for Medicaid benefits.

•    They removed funding for English immersion for non-English-speaking students, thus ensuring the continuation of the failed, Democrat supported bilingual programs.
